Hardhat's spaceSeptember 02 update from last BlogWell a lot has happend since my last blog, Evesham Technology ltd the company i worked for decided to enter into a Pre pack administration which ment that at least 150 members of staff (including me) were made redundant by post. Thus nopay for the whole of August and being having to wait until the goverment decides to pay us out.
I have fortunatley found another job in northampton which should be good. on another note we had some friends camp out in our back yard over the bank holiday weekend and a great time was had by all. i would just like to say that they are allways welcome.
well that is all for now. i will eventually update this again so keep on comming by.
Hat March 20 Bored at workHi all, Well another day of boredom at work. I went to see the dentist yesturday and will need 2 fillings. Now i ask you, why could'nt she do the fillings all yesterday instead of making me book another appointment??? It just does not make any sense. On the studying front, i did the storage training last week and now are just waiting untill i can take the exam dor that one. I will have to get stuck into my Cisco course soon too. Well that is my lot for now. Hat March 12 More trainingWell I am off to a training course tomorrow and will be bombarded by more confusing stuff. I have also put my latest MCSE on hold to do my CCNA, thus gaming time in the near future is going to be scarce as i try and get this information in my head.
i am also trying to figure out whether doing the 1 long exam would be better than 2 shorter ones. on the one hand the sigle test has a lot riding on it but the 2 seperate tests just add up the tension. Blaaa i hate doing tests of any sort.
is anyone else Loving Primevil on ITV1????? Bloody fine program that. pity the last episode is on Saturday, however i have heard a rumour that they will be making a second season.. Can't wait.
I have not even switched the Xbox on the last couple of days i am sure it will be shouting at me on its blog.
oh well can't win them all.
Hat March 06 YAY- Blogginess is backWayhay we are back in the bloggyness of Blogs,
well what can I say,... not much sense that's what. so lets start off from January 2007
Came back from a fantastic Summer Holiday in the Sunny South Africa all tanned and relaxed. The Kids had a blast and enjoyed being with their older cousin, Aunt and Grand Parents. We stayed at my parents house and went to the beach often, ate huge steaks and generaly had a blast.
The only issue is that our bags got broken into and we are missing a video camera and still waiting for the airline to cough up.
Got struck into work and before i new it......February happened.
February saw a decent snow fall which had us playing in the snow with the kids. great fun and the snow has a way of making everything look good. Also been busy, but sometimes the work has been scarce. Started getting more involved in the SAN department to spice things up a bit.
March is now and a bit of interest in different work things and nearly finnished Tomb Raider. Just the hard level to complete. i have to still try complete COD3 on veteran and GoW on Insane but do not seem to have the time. ooh and i had to cancell my PSU subscription as i was not playing it enough to warant the monthly costs.
March also see the birthday of my eldest who will be 8 this year.. and that means next month i will be bloody old.
other things on the agenda are to get the clan ready for the new Friends Forum League and try get the "GET TOGETHER" off the ground. So any ideas are welcome.

HAT October 17 Long time no BlogWell it has been a long time without any blog.

 and that i have been busy at work and at home, but the truth is that i have just been tooo lazy  to update this space. i know quite slack but..................................am i bovered? Well i would like to say Happy birthday to Giggles for the near future and hope you win that bloody lottery.
 as you can see the website is grand and a big thanks goes to my mate Wraith for all his hard work and non sleep. i would buy you a pint but i know you would not want it so there is a kebab in the post.
 The kids have been there usuall selves and continue to see how far dad can get pushed before his head explodes and goo fills the room. well i don't know what to do with them other than to use what i have and form a mini army. hell hath no fury as them Satan spawn.
On the gaming front i finnally finnished COD2 on Veteran and i must say that was bloody hard and very enjoyable... can not wait for COD3...
allso tried the PSU demo with the fellow misfits.. very nice but i am not too convinced on the monthly susbscription thingy.
and finnaly on a sad note,The Lone rangers have disbandoned.... i will miss the clan and would like to offer up a home for anyone in need.

PS some photos of cat and the BBQ at Zombies August 14 CatsWell against my warnings a new little flea bag entered the house on satureday. The kids and Cheeky were delighted and grandma was bemused and thought her daughter had lost the plot.
Sunny (The Cat) at firts only showed a little bit of unsocial behaviour and it looked as she would come round, however on Sunday she had had enough of this little pest and keeps Hissing and growling at the small Flea, The Flea has been named Wiskers and teh eldestr daught thinks that she can rename it all the time. Ok it is cute and playfull but there is going to be a full scale war and I do not want to be caught in the middle when the Fur flys.

Cheers have fun now August 08 Back at Work Well the Hols are over and i have to get up early and drive around the countryside again. well sorry i have not updated this space for a while but i have been LAZY and didn't want to.couple of things happening at the moment. COD2 tourney and LRUK get together. looking forward to both for different reasons.
we had a great weekend with Friends braving the roads and travelling hundreds of miles to taste the food i prepared. it was a good day and i appologuise for my sniffing ,but this dreaded frog Flu has got me down but not out.
My wife is being Cheeky again by trying to bribe me into accepting a new little pussycat into the house. As some know i am a sucker for kittens ,however i just can't help seeing the fur fly when the 2 females meet.
well all time to go as now i don't have more to say other than i will be traverlling to London 3 days on the trot......Bugger i don't like London that much.
Well have Fun and Play Fair, if not just have fun and don't get cauhgt.  July 23 on Holiday..YAY`well i am on my Hols, have been off most of last week as well.
well so far we have painted teh fence and shed, sat in the sun and swam in the kids pool. Got a bit of a tan and just generally chilled.
The good thing is now that my will be off as well and we can spend some evenings together
 as for the gaming, well i have not been on recently as i decided o catch up on a bit of Telly, watched 3 episodes of "band of brothers" on saturday. watched some crap on saturday evening and sweated in heat. I was rudly awaken by a bloody thunder storm which was chucking it down all through my windows.( wellthat was sat morning at 4am)
Finally loaded Vista on ome spare hardware that doesn't comply to the HCL but its working with a bit of tweeks. to be honest i think it reminds me of Fedora/red hat in a way. the security aspect might piss me off at installations but i am sure i will get used to it.
well i will try and get on live just now and will see who and what i will play, i still have not tried the new GRAW content and i bought that a week ago.

well after being stuck in traffice we made it to Britsol and had great weather. the 2 problems were, England loosing
 and having to cook my own dinner, i do not want to sound rude, well ok i will sound rude... do i have "Jacques Le Chef" tatooed on my forehead???? just joking a great day and nice company and I think i drank at least 2l of diet coke by myself( it could have been more...LOL)
Well its your turn to travel next.. wemight come down again in the holidays.
Also i think we might have to gatecrash them people in Birmingham and try out their garden and cast iron BBQ. Happy Birthday Zombie and don't worry i am a lot older then you.
as for the bare top lip, it is still bare however i have found out now that i sweat on said lip.... definitly aint going to shave me nuts then... that would be sweaty stick balls ...

well i have been realy busy at work latley and had to go to Manchester for some training.
I left sunny Northampton and traveled 2 hours to be greeted by windy raining Manchester, it was a full 4 degress colder.
 well the Training was ok and i have now another certification at least. as for the rest of the week i have been doing reports and other crap work related stuff.
My Xbox is going to kill me because i have not even switched it on this week. I will try make it up later, i promise.
Now i can see you all wondering about which friend i was saying goodbye to, well an unfortunate event happend last week when in the bathroom armed with razor my right hand attacked my face and shaved my tash off.
Tash , mousy as i liked to call him go back a long time ever since that one morning in th army in 1989 when i with-held the urge to shave above the lip. he will be missed.
i am still not convinced that the bareness is the best way forward and might have to inlist some new partnership with future stubble.

I know I have been a bit busy and a bit lazy when i have been at home to update this space.
well it looks as we have finnaly got some sun for a change and the world cup is here.
COME ON ENGLAND....
well life could be better at work, not the job just the 6 hours a day traverling and 8 hours on site the last couple of days have realy taken it out of me. I have not even had the energy to play the 360.. you know that i was shattered.
unfortunatly i have to do it all again on Monday and hopfully we can sort the issues out.
I was haveing fun on Ebay again and picked up a gamecube with mario double dash for £24. oh well what is another console in the huse. i will propberly trade it in later for a Wii.
Well as i have said the sun has been shinning but i have only seen it through the server rooms window. Bollocks.
Well i was suprised this week with a gift of South African beers from Giggles, she shouldn't waste her money. But thanks very very much. i will enjoy them.
It is 25 degrees with no clouds in the sky today.. wahoooooooooooooooooooooo SUN.
it is also teh Brittish grand Prix so loads of traffic aroud today and tomorrow. will have to watch that on the telly laters.
I also managed to get Amped for teh 360 from play.com for £17.99 so i will have a go at that sometime this weekend.
I would also like to tell my lovley wife that I know this time of year is a sad one but I am there for you if you need me. i love you lots and will allways be there to offer any help I can

well the highlite of this week is that my car is finally getting a service and next week it will go in to get the doors sorted.
My children have been the same little shits they normally are. and i have basically been doing the same as i was doing last week.
so lookie there no change.
I do have a little dilemma tho. i recently played Forza on my 360.. fell in love with it again, problem is do i start afresh on the shiny white beast or carry on with my existing game on the xbox????

sorry i have not added to this online shite for awhile but "real" life does sometimes interfear.
well we had a small get together with some friends and had a Braai (BBQ) , the English weather let us at least have the BBQ without any rain which was good.
I think all who were there enjoyed themselves... no one got food poisoning :)
well i have a DS-Lite and just recently picked up a Linksys Wireless router and can now connect to the online gamming in either Metroid prime hunters or mario kart.
Both games are just superb, Mario kart ds is good fun without engaging brain and Metriod prime hunters - campain is exelent and the online games will challenge a seasond halo player anyday. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Hat May 08 DS Contwell having sold the shiny white DS-Lite to Dr love , I waited with baited breath for my shiny Blue one. It arrived and i was as pleased as punch..... until opening it up and finding a dead pixel on the bottom screen.
well i cannot exchange it as they will only change it if 3 or more pixels are dead. it is not too bad but it would have been nice to have on without faults.
the white looks better in reality than it does in the pictures. the blue one is buitifull when polished up but collects finger prints faster than the blokes on CSI.
well sorry 360 i have been preocupied with DS and fighting with airlines and busy at work this week.....
must play sooooooon.
dowlnoaded the Top Spin demo... what fun playing with cheeky.. must get a copy of that now... swap for PDZ limited edition anyone????/

well we have decided to move some loans and go on a family sun holiday abroad, we have not been anywhere since before we bought the house. YAY. trouble is finding decent prices for a family with 3 kids..BOOOO
we found a good(reasonable )fare, paid for it and now have been told that they made a mistake and it will cost more....BASTARDS....i am pretty pissed off.
Work was crap as they are hagling about me doing overtime but want everything done ASAP, and to top it off today i got every appointment mixed up and was running late for my installs, and that is even after i started at 6am. Blah......
Cheekybutt has a Nintendo DS- for her birthday next month. i have been buying her some acesories and games. she has Nintendogs,Bubble Bobble revolution,Sonic Rush,Super monkeyball and i have ordered a media player add on awith gb mem card and Mario Cart double dash off of ebay, i have allso secured Metroid Prime hunters at a good price... so where are you mr Postie??????
I must admit i am quite impressed with the DS and i am considering getting the DS Lite from Japan for myself( i also need a birthday pressie... hmmmm that is also the bad... i turned 37 this year and now i amd old and overweight....Bugger...

HAT April 07 Friday - YayYay Friday is here with us again.
well this week has been fairly uneventfull, with only our loss to the Friendly Fire clan in the Friends Forum League.
The good thing is that we should get some points on the board while playing some other clan.
i need to say Happy Birthday to my Dad for the 31st March and we will call you again soon.
i am looking forward to a buddy of mine maybe visiting us on his brief stop in the UK.
Oblivion is taking over my spare time and is sssssssssssssoooooooo addictive that i have to stop myself playing otherwise i would be on it most of the time.
I downloaded the Tomb Raider demo last night and will have tio spen some time on this tonight. I also want to try out COD2 online, I have not tried the multi player since the patch was released. As for Tomb Raider.. will teh 360 version be better than the PS2 version or Xbox version? i do not want to spend the extra cash for the game if can get it cheaper for the xbox with the same graphics.
well i better be off now as i have a ton of paper work to do......

I cannot understand my company, first they state that i need to get permission before doing overtime and then they state that because they know why there is this overtime i do not need to inform them as it is noted on my timesheets. then i get a call saying that i sould of informed them....... BASTARDS.
well if they do ot want me claiming oertime i shall get to site late everyday and leave early
Oblivion is Huge and does become a bit addictive. having a blast running around doing quests. Cheekybutt is humouring me by showing a bit of interest but i am sure she just thinks i am nuts.
well April is here, that means i am getting older again and will be even more of an ogre sometimes. just ignore me at those times.

on the weekend i changed my watch to the correct time, unfortunatly i found out this morning that i forgot to change my alarm clock, so an hour late start this morning.
well the twins are in bed and i am just sorting out for my day tomorrow.
i realy need some unbaised info on elder scrolls- do i buy it??? GRAW- is being quite hard for me at the moment, Marble blast- i need to get one below par on beginner and one on intermediate to get achievements, just can not do it. Feeding frenzy- dam easy in normal mode , bloody difficult on timed mode, at least i got an acheivement.

 but my jobs went ok without any glitches and i managed to get home on time...
 can't complain about that now.well i am currently getting mor e into my Fedora Core and found a couple of neat things last night.
while i was surfing the net i came across a movie that will be comming out soon. it stars Milla Jovovich and is called Ultraviolet... looks the business and somehow reminds me of underworld in a strange way.... which can't be bad cause i loved both of those movies...
here is some details of Ultraviolet:
Set in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like disease (hemophagia), giving them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence. As they are set apart from "normal, healthy" humans, the world is pushed to the brink of worldwide civil war (a war between humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction of the diseased population. On the gaming front: i am battling to finnish teh advance levels on marble blast....yes i know i am crap...
also the other night i could not connect to anyones GRAW game so decided to play some single player.. battled the same level over and over till i gave up.... lets hope tonight will be better..
Currently downloading the burnout demo.. and look out for Viva Pinata if you like sims.. i think this will be XBOX's awnser to the Japanese market as they loved things like tamagotchi and all things cute and qwerky..

Well not much to report but i am still buggered. oh well i think after dinner i will play a bit of Xbox live and see who's online.
Today i was interested in buying a new domain name but could not decide what name to go for. Oh well there is all ways another day.

March 19 tired-part 2well another day out working to help pay off the credit cards. that is bad enough when, Cheeky works nights and Saturday is the only full day we normally have together but alas i was working.On the way home today i got a text from Cheeky informing me that the money that i was earning to pay the credit cards was to be spent on a new fridge as the one we had packed up.
 phoned around and found our local comet were as useless as tits on fish- currys had 2 instock. Bundled all in the car and toodled off, waited an age for someone to serve us. well had to add to the ever growing debt on the shiney plastic. got the fridge home to find that the bottom was so bashed up it would not even stand level.
therefore i had the privaledge of going back to curry's to get another one.
Cheeky had to go to work and now i am trying to stay calm and not beat the kids for being naughty and not listerning.

March 18 tired-part 1well hello there
 i feel a bit buggered as i have had many early starts this week, funny thing is that when i need to get up early i realy battle to fall asleep.
Well this week saw me installing Squid and Websense servers and general driving up and down the motorways.
the good news is that i am getting better at Linux in general and so ,uch that i decided to load a laptop with fedora Core 4. Was playing with it last night for a while and attempted to update this blog using mozilla browser- no luk the bloody thing would not letme save it.
Games: this week i have mainly been playing GRAW- i managed to get CheekyButt online with it aswell. this means at least there is another game for us to split screen.
xbox arcade has Feeding Frenzy available to download, good for a laugh.
well i will continue this laters as i have to do some work today..good luck and have fun with what ever you are up to today- If you are suffering a bad head ...Happy ST Paddy's day for yesterday
